Celebrate Día de la Marina in Puerto Morelos: Fishing, Fun, and Family at Ventana al Mar
Looking for something fun and local to do on May 31st? Mark your calendar—Puerto Morelos is hosting a full day of family-friendly sports and community celebration in honor of Día de la Marina (Navy Day), and it’s all happening at Ventana al Mar, just steps from the beach.
From 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the town will come alive with friendly competitions, games, and plenty of coastal spirit. Whether you want to show off your fishing skills or just cheer on the sack racers, there’s something for everyone. Activities include:
- A local Fishing Tournament
- Swimming
- Beach Volleyball
- Greased Pole Climb (palo encebado)
- Beach Soccer
- Tug of War
- Sack Races
This is a great way to connect with the community, enjoy the outdoors, and maybe even take home a few bragging rights. It’s also one of those authentic events where locals and visitors mix naturally, with no stage shows or tourist traps—just pure, playful celebration.
